First of all I must say I am really excited to have joined rtCamp as Associate Software Engineer. 🎉
Today was my first day at rtCamp, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the company and its processes as given by the HR.

Onboarding Call

To start the day, we had an onboarding call with the HR where we discussed about the company’s structures and systems. The first thing on my to-do list was setting up my email account and securing other accounts. As someone who takes digital security seriously, enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on my company socials was a priority. Then we were introduced to the company ERP platform and learnt how to manage our account, timesheets, and other ins and outs of the system.

We were also given some tasks in our to-dos which I completed.

Reading the Employee Handbook

I went through the employee handbook which I must say is an “A+” imho and very well written. The book provided detailed insights into the company’s policies, work culture, and benefits.

Getting Familiar with Systems and Tools

The team provided an informative video session on the “dos” and “donts” and the best practices in the world of system administration. Also I got to know about the rsync tool (I use scp btw) used to copy files between local and remote machines. Additionally, we got a quick yet insightful introduction to EasyEngine, rtCamp’s own WordPress platform.

Sync-up, Summary of the Day

In the sync-up session we discussed and reflected on what all we have accomplished. The L&D team also provided valuable guidance, highlighting key areas for growth and learning opportunities.

👋Hi! to rtBuddy

I had a 1-on-1 conversation with my rtBuddy, who shared valuable insights about the company. He also provided thoughtful advice on things he wished he had known during his training period, which gave me a clearer perspective on how to navigate through this journey.

P.S. –
The rtCamp Slack’s custom emojis are an absolute goldmine! 😂.
